The Lights are a Cambridge based trio that have been out sourcing some great influences to create something quite different. The band started out as a duo consisting of Cliff Ward and Lester LloydReason and after asking Ian Turner to put some percussion on the forthcoming album it worked so well that they decided to become a 3 piece!
A big influence from the late John Martyn and a combined love of acoustic music, folk and blues has lead to this, their first album 'Gloryland'. Watch this space for a release date!
They perform regularly in the Cambridge area creating a relaxed and enjoyable performance that always involves a good laugh and, of course, plenty of beer!
Cliff, Lester and Ian have been performing in local band 'Lightning Jack' for many years past. Cliff also performs with The Willows, an alt/folk/roots band with a modern edge and Ian also performs in Redhouse Radio. See the links page for the other projects the guys are involved in.
